DISTRIKT is a 501c3 non-profit music and art collective born of the Burning Man event. Our mission? Building and supporting an inclusive and diverse community by embracing people, music and art.
We celebrate community. We mentor altruism, the pure joy of giving. We pay homage to electronic music and alternative arts by throwing furious & fierce events in the desert and beyond, providing creatively designed spaces for free expression in music, dance, and the full panoply of artistic modalities. As a non-profit, we fundraise to bestow art grants for projects which otherwise might not manifest.
PINK MAMMOTH is music/arts collective dedicated to providing unforgettable parties with House music and a deep vibe. We thrive on bringing good people together and making each event memorable. We create the freshest parties at Burning man, Lovefest, Decompression, Bay to Breakers, Mighty, Pink, Wish, Mars bar, Shine and other select undergrounds and house par-ties! PM is a family. We strive to nurture a sense of closeness among us, a bond between us, and to create an environment of love and compassion, selflessness and support, health and vitality, that encourages each of us to be our best, to shine and to thrive. The survival and growth of PM depends upon its participants.
THE KAZBAH is a large-scale Sound Camp at Burning Man. The Kazbah will power up as the sun is setting over the mountains and will continue to send its frequencies throughout the night and into the sunrise over the playa.
The centerpiece of our camp will now be the 48' tall Kazbah Pyramid in 2015! 12'×12′ at the base and built out of aluminum and a CNC machined wooden facade.
The pyramid itself will now sit directly on the desert floor with the DJ poised slightly higher (above to 90,000watts of amplifiers) and connecting with the crowd through the Eye of Horus (or 3rd Eye).
This remarkable, monumental structure is a DJ booth and a conduit of energy. It's considered to be a modern hybrid of a pyramid and an obelisk, a petrified ray of Sun Energy designed to tap into divine frequencies, harnessing power from the cosmos and radiating it to all those around it's core with love, light, and sound, as well as an infinitely prismatic array of sublime frequencies that have yet to be named. The Kazbah by definition is the “tower that protects the kingdom.”
FRIENDS and FAMILY, The CFAEA
Founded in 1993, Friends and Family is a music, dance and arts collective producing immersive events showcasing its members’ many talents. These have included warehouse and club events, outdoor festivals and campouts, as well as a Burning Man camp in 2005. In 2012, FnF created the California Foundation for the Advancement of the Electronic Arts (CFAEA), a 501c3 non-profit organization, and continues to produce collectively organized, not-for-profit, art and dance events. New artists and members are welcome!
